Can Conservation and Agriculture Work together for Inclusive Regional Development in the Zambezi Region?

Blog Post by Carolin Hulke, Project C01 “Future in Chains”.

Future Rural Africa Subproject C01 “Future in Chains” studies socio-ecological transformation in cross-border growth corridors, and assesses long-term developments and adaptive capacities connected to emerging (inter-)national value chains in the Zambezi region and along the SACGOT growth corridor.

Researcher Carolin Hulke focused her PhD research on “Development beyond global integration: Livelihood strategies, small-scale agriculture, and regional value chains in Namibian conservation areas”. After conducting feedback workshops on horticulture value chain development on the Zambezi Region in February 2023, she recently wrote an opinion piece for the “Conservation Namibia” Blog, outlining the relation between nature conservation and agriculture in the Zambezi region:

Carolin Hulke: Can conservation and agriculture work together for inclusive regional development in the Zambezi Region? – Conservation Namibia, 8 August 2023.
