On 25 April 2025, the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) Future Rural Africa co-hosted a Dissemination Workshop in Dodoma, Tanzania together with the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies (BICC), Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Mzumbe University, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
The event brought together academic partners, policymakers, and representatives from key ministries — including the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Lands, and Education — to reflect on the CRC’s research findings and their implications for rural development.
The programme featured welcoming notes from partner universities (SUA and Mzumbe), presentations on core CRC themes — science futures, violent futures, and green futures — and a World Café discussion on higher education, knowledge transfer, and inclusive infrastructuring strategies.
A final panel, including scholars from IDOS and the Pan-African University Nairobi, offered closing reflections and perspectives for future collaboration.
The event marked an important step in translating research into dialogue and action, and reaffirmed the value of cross-sector exchange for shaping sustainable rural futures.
