Workshop: Past Futures – New Histories From Southern Africa

The workshop “Past Futures – New Histories From Southern Africa” organized by CRC-TRR Future Rural Africa Project A02 Past Futures just kicked off in Lusaka.

The workshop is jointly organized by the Collaborative Research Centre Future Rural Africa in collaboration with our partners at the University of Namibia (UNAM), the University of Warwick, the University of Zambia, and the University of Botswana. This interdisciplinary gathering, supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG), features panels centered around the topics of leadership, liberation movements, regulations, commerce, and identity. Sessions delve into historical narratives, social dynamics, environmental issues, and economic developments across Southern Africa. The workshop concludes with reflections and encourages continued conversations among participants.
