The Board for Gender Equality and Diversity organised a coaching series for women* researchers. The coaching aims to enable women* to overcome obstacles and progress in their careers through a combination of systemic coaching and the teaching of specific skills. Women* are underrepresented in leadership positions and higher academic ranks in various disciplines. Thus, the workshop series is a contribution to promoting gender equality and the professional development of women* scientists.
The coaching series facilitated by Joh Sarre, started in April, introducing the participants to reflecting on their projects, positionality as women* researchers and the “rivers of their academic life”. Practical activities and reflections that address topics such as “Writing as a project”, and “Writing as deciding” through the “strategic textagon” have been covered. Additionally, managing the writing project as an academic, while addressing both the anticipated and unexpected personal issues were covered. The series is scheduled to run through November 2024.
